So here is my little fashionista with a scarflette I just refashioned from an old sweater that I don't wear anymore! The sweater has been in my closet for quite some time ( like last winter because it shrank in the wash) and I couldn't get rid of it because I love the color and how soft it is. I finally realized, with the help of a little cold front in Florida, that a little scarflette would be perfect for her. I only used one sleeve of the sweater to make it and I LOVE how it turned out! (I think she loved it too) It's super easy and a sewing machine is not needed! Since its steaming hot here in FL she'll be rocking this in the fall/wintertime. I can't wait for her to wear it out and about!
So here's the sweater. I laid it out and found the seam around the arm hole.
I used a seam ripper to remove the sleeve.
Once I had the sleeve off it looked like this.
I then took my seam ripper down the middle of the sleeve.
When I was done it looked like this.
I crossed the smaller end (where the armpit hole was) over the larger end (the old wrist hole) and sewed a button on through both layers. To make sure it wasn't hanging on by one button, I stitched at the top and bottom where the underside layer and top layer met. I just used a needle and thread and had to only do a couple stitches.
The little scarf finished!
And here is the fashion model wearing her mommies design! She picked out the sunglasses herself!
