I love having little accents in my house that stand out. I'm in the process of changing a few things in my home and one of those areas is the girls' bathroom. Actually it's Sophia's since Amelia is too little to have anything to do with it. It was decorated with a cute banner and towels but that's about it. I decided to ask how she would decorate it and (surprise surprise) she said "Pink. Pink with sparkles." So with a girly girl theme in mind I pinned some ideas and I can't wait to show you what it looks like! One thing that I love to have in the bathroom is fancy towels. It's really hard to find certain colors or patterns so I usually just make my own. It's so easy to do and really makes a statement!
I buy a towel, whatever color I like, and buy the trim at JoAnn's. I love being able to pick out my own colors or patterns for whatever "theme" I am going for!
Then it's just a matter of pinning and sewing! I hand stitched the sequin strand on because I didn't want the sequins to be sewed into and break. It took a little longer to sew by hand but I was able to sew around the sequins so they didn't break. The strand of pink poms I used my sewing machine .
The finished product! What I love about this project is that it can be done for kitchen towels or even blankets! I think it makes a great little statement in a bathroom or kitchen! It could even be a cute little gift for someone! Is there something that you like to use to add some "sparkle" or accent to a room?
