A few things to keep in mind
1. Neutral socks. If you're a bit unsure make sure you wear neutral colored socks. Keeping patterns off the socks won't make it so daring
2. High Ankle Boots. Lower ankle boots are going to show more of the socks and have a wider mouth. For this look you definitely want the top of the boot to hit just above the ankle.
3. Length of Dress. Free People can totally rock the longer maxi dresses with this look, but I like to keep the dress shorter. I feel like it could easily become a prarie or kid look and I feel like a shorter dress offers some edge to the overall feel of the outfit.
These boots work perfectly for what I was going for. The lace up on the side adds a fun detail to the boots and allows you to see a bit more of the socks. These boots are comfy and with the chunky heel offer more support since they aren't too high. Also, I feel like I've been wearing black boots non stop this Winter so these tan boots are perfect for Spring since they're lighter!
Have you worn socks with ankle boots? What do you think of the trend?
