When I say orange what do you think of? Halloween? Pumpkins? I'll be honest that's what I think. I haven't owned too many orange items because I always felt like that's what you wear around October. Well I realized that I am missing out on a whole color category just because of that thought. I have recently bought a few orange items and it has made me realize that orange is not just for Halloween. Orange is for anytime.

Okay so this lovely shade of orange is absolutely perfect for Spring and Summer and (who am I kidding) Fall too. The cold shoulder makes it totally appropriate for warmer weather (or just throw a sweater on top for a cool Spring day). The top has the cutest little ribbon shoulder straps and adds a little detail to the flowy top. I absolutely am all for the tie knot trend and this hits perfectly. The shirt falls a bit longer (not a crop top) so it totally covers the tummy area, even when you lift your arms up!
So, have you tried orange yet?
Velvet is a heavier fabric. Some might say just for Fall and Winter and since it's Springtime to rotate those out until Fall. However, I wanted to show some options on how to make velvet appropriate for Spring. There are a ton of Spring velvet styles (lighter fabric, shades, peep toe shoes etc.) but I wanted to show you how a dark velvet pencil skirt for Spring can be a do.

First off, take a look at that sunshine? Normally I try and stick to the shadowy areas because that's what bloggers do, but I so loved the vitamin D that my skin was receiving and I just couldn't help but stand in it! With that said how fun is this outfit? A dark velvet pencil skirt is a great trendy wear for the office or just a fun night out. I wanted to make this appropriate for Spring so here are my tips...
1. A light fun top. A bright patterned or pastel crop top will definitely give this more of a Spring look. It adds color, and making sure it has short sleeves (or sleeveless if you have that hot weather already) can brighten up the look.
2. Shoes. Make sure to wear a peep toe, sandal or colored heel. Again this will bring a Spring or warmer weather look to the outfit. Shove those ankle boots to the side on this one and (even if it means your toes are a little bit cold) paint your toes a fun color and be ready to show them off!
3. Accessories. I think a fun lavender clutch, bright jeweled necklace, or floral purse can add a definite lighter look to the whole outfit.
Don't be afraid to keep a few Fall or Winter items in your closet. Just pair them with lighter or brighter color options and items that are appropriate for Spring. I love mixing and matching up different Seasonal trends so I can get the most use out of them!
What do you think? Would you try adding a few Spring items to re-make a Winter piece?

Finally getting more sunny days around here, and that means spending more time outside! When it's cloudy outside I generally reach for my grey, black or darker clothes, but since it's been quite a bit lighter with the sunshine outside I am now reaching for my lighter pieces. I've been looking to expand my Spring dress wardrobe and this one from Zaful caught my eye since it's exactly what I'm looking for!

Since embroidery is a must have trend this year this is a perfect addition to my closet. I love the lighter and brighert colors of the flowers against the cream fabric. And bonus for me that it's still a long sleeved dress. This dress fits true to size and is very forgiving in the waist/hip area. It comes with a cream slip to wear underneath so you can't see through it.
I added a cute blue moto jacket that I picked up second hand for $8 and wore my fringe ankle boots (I got them last year) because even thought the sun is out it is still on the chilly side. If it's warmer where you're at you could totally pair this with sandals and skip the jacket. I added a cute gold leaf headband to keep the whole Spring feel going on here.
This week has been rough. My oldest is on Spring break and Millie had another eye episode. Four days with her eyes closed has meant long days spent inside. She opened her eyes yesterday morning though so we all enjoyed getting out of the house (I think Millie enjoyed it the most since she could open her eyes and see again)
Hope everyone has had a great week and quick reminder there's a few days left for the CaseApp giveaway so be sure to enter here!
We carry phones everywhere. I am on my laptop constantly. They are my go to accessories you could say.
I love cute phone cases but don't love how expensive some of the items are and on top of that there are so many options how do you even choose? Enter CaseApp. They are a company that has a ton of pre made designs but they also provide the option to customize your own image, so you could be the only one in the world with a certain design. I decided I wanted to try both options....
Since Summer is right around the corner I decided to use their palm tree case for my phone. Totally perfect and maybe just maybe I can will the sunshine to come out?!? Here's to hoping.
For my laptop skin I wanted to put a picture or phrase that meant something to me. Because I blog I am on my computer a lot and sometimes I get so wrapped up in commenting, shopping or reading posts that I forget what time it is. I decided to scan Etsy for images to download (there are some that download immediately after purchase) and came across "don't forget to live" quote. Perfect. It's a reminder for me whenever I sit down to my laptop to not forget to close the laptop and experience life.
I LOVE my laptop skin. It is so easy to put on and if something happens and there's a bubble (hand raised) or it gets put on crooked (hand raised again!) you can take it off and adjust it where needed and it doesn't lose any stickiness! I mean it doesn't get any better than that!
To put the phone case on is just a simple little push and it's done! It's really durable, I've dropped my phone twice since I have put it on. I will say some phone cases I have bought in the past comes with a clear protector case to put on your phone before the actual case goes on and I personally think it's a nice extra layer to have. This case does not come with that or with a glass screen protector.( Just an FYI)

(if you're interested in customizing I'd suggest using Etsy) If you're wanting to get a case immediately I also have a code LITTLENEST20 to get 20% your order!
Hope you enter in the giveaway below and good luck!
A huge thank you to CaseApp and always to my readers! Happy Monday!
This is not my area of expertise, but for all the ladies out there who are trying to get in shape and be healthy than this is for you. (and really me....I feel like if I put myself out there then I'll make myself accountable)
Leggings c/o SheIn, Tank, T shirt, Yoga Mat,
This is going to be an honest post. I am not a big fan of working out. It's really hard for me to set aside time to break a sweat. However, it is important and I'm starting to put together a little workout regiment that works for me.
1. Water. I know this goes hand in hand with working out but since I am working on getting healthy I am also working at getting more than the required minimum of oz. to drink. To do that I'm adding cucumbers, strawberries or blackberries to my water. Also carrying around a drink container works a ton.
2. Stretching. My muscles have lost elasticity over time so I am really working on stretching after my workout. My body seriously feels so much better after stretching.
3. Weights. I use 2 and 5 lb. weights and work on repitition. I work my arms and upper back muscles. I use 3 lb. ankle weights for leg lifts and booty lifts. I don't really have a time frame on how long I work out with my weights. Mainly because I have a little one wanting to help me lift my arms "higher Mama"! I'd say I probably spend about 15 -20 minutes on this.
4. Crunches. My mortal enemy. Having had two babies has put a strain on my tummy muscles and this is a real focus for me. I split up my crunches. I do a set of at least 100 (25 times X4) before I start my weights and after I'll do at least 100 sometimes 200 if I'm feeling really motivated.
I know this is isn't really specific, but I do think that each person can find what works best for them.
What is it that gets you motivated? Do you set aside time to workout? How does it work for you if you have kiddos? I love hearing ideas and new things to try so please leave me a comment and let me know what your workout routine is!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Blush, lavender, sky, mint, mauve, sage. What do all these have in common? They are all muted colors aka. pastels. Spring is the perfect Season to break out these colors so Ana and Michelle decided to make it their linkup theme this week. I asked to guest co host with them and am so excited to talk about pastels with them!
Favorites from last week are Pumps and Pushups and The Style Tune. Be sure to check out their fabulous and must have shoes for Spring!
My little monkey said she "matched" my skirt and wanted a picture for the blog!

There are so many ways to wear pastels. I think the girliest way to incorporate these muted colors is a tulle skirt. It's such a whimsical look and can be worn for Easter, weddings, date night and really is going to be a great option for Spring and Summer!
I wanted to keep a soft look so I opted for a cream top and nude heels, but I also love the idea of pairing this with a bright crop top or a pair of fun clogs like these.
A huge thank you to Ana and Michelle for letting me co host with them this week. Hope you all have a wonderful start to the week!
