Christmas week is here! Usually Christmas takes up a whole week with planning, last minute shopping, baking, cooking and decorating! This last week at our house is a little crazy. My hubby had his gallbladder taken out last week and tomorrow I am going in for a minor surgery. We had met our deductable for the year (thank you Amelia) so we wanted to get our procedures in before the end of the year. Talk about last minute I know. I am trying to get all my last minute buys and presents wrapped and house cleaned before tomorrow. We'll see how it goes though. Anyways just wanted to post some pictures of our Holiday decorations around our house.
I made these stockings after Sophia was born! It was so fun to do. I haven't ever had a fireplace in our house here in FL so I have always struggled with where to hang the stockings. I saw on Pinterest using a stick to hang them in the living room and loved it. I've done this the past two years and it's my favorite decoration (and cheapest and easiest) to do!
Christmas cards are displayed on our mirror and I used wood letters from JoAnns that I painted and bought a vine wreath for the NOEL.
I saw this idea in a magazine and the year Sophia was born I made all those little draw string bags. Good idea I did it then because holy moly with two active girls this would never have gotten done! I love that I can hang these wherever I choose and the bags are big enough for TWO girls to use next year!
I love using ornaments to decorate around the house. I had these glitter snowflakes that I hung on the girls'shower curtain to add a little sparkle! I used a red one to decorate a hand towel! Really ornaments can go anywhere!! They just add that "feel" of the season in any room! And that little hand at the bottom of the picture just found out about a toilet paper roll.
Banners are the easiest to make and add festiveness (is that a word??) to any space. I always make little banners for each holiday. It's so cheap and Sophia loves it!
Kind of a cliche mom project here but hey I'm a mom! I did mistletoes on canvas this year. I know as the girls grow up these projects will be few and far between (mom do we haaaaave to?) so for now I'm taking advantage that they are young and love to paint!
Hope everyone has a beautiful Christmas week and takes some time to pause and think about what Christmas really means to them!
Hi I'm Ruth!
I love fashion and all things that make up a wardrobe. I hope to inspire you to try new trends, enjoy the classics and not to be afraid to dress for yourself!
