So I have been working on re doing Sophia's room from a baby room to a little girl room. I did a TON of DIY stuff that I will share as the weeks go on, but I am so excited with how it turned out! And best of all Sophia just loves it! She told me it's "perfect mama!" I think I made a winner out of the room. I have some before pictures I took so you can see the transformation. All this was done for $100! Super cheap with a whole new look, but I'll be honest it did take some time. Now that it's all put together-totally worth it!
I love the banner that I made. I have had it for quite awhile and think it's just so cute and it fit perfect in her room. I made it before I blogged so I found a DIY banner that you see here if you're interested at how easy it is! And it's a no sew banner! I created the flower S awhile back and still love it. You can see how I created the S here. I sketched the picture of the little girl with balloons myself and found a frame at the thrift store for $5, which just needed a coat of paint. I made the chalkboard (you can see the post here) and the gold wood sign I did myself as well. The gold picture frame with Sophia's red painting doesn't have glass in it so we can easily replace it with whatever painting or drawing she creates. I also made the pillow on the rocking chair last year. Her desk we got at Ikea and her little chair I found at the thrift store and repainted it. You can see that post here.
I cut out foam stars and painted them with gold paint. I then used white ribbon and hot glued them at different lengths to each star. I hung them up with double sided tape on the wall. I made the tuelle bedskirt myself, I will have a post on how I did it later. I painted the bird painting myself after finding a bunch of whimsical paintings on pinterest. You can see the painting I found here. Sophia picked the one she liked best and I re created it best I could. I also purchased the picture frames at a thrift store for $4 (for both!!) and painted them her color of choice-hot pink.
