I got these cute little shoes for only $8 at Target for my little bug. She loves them but can't wear them because the straps are too loose and they fall off when she walks. I needed to tighten them, but didn't want to show the seams. And then I had a light bulb moment! I could put a button on the side! This was super easy to do and I think its so cute! Even if you didn't have a strap across the top of a shoe or if you just wanted to dress it up and give it more personality this would be great solution! All you need is a needle and thread (thread needs to be the same color as the shoe) and a button.
I first figured out how much of the little strap I wanted to take in and pinched it.
I then laid it flat off to the side, above the shoe. If you were to put it underneath the side of the shoe it would be uncomfortable and rub on the top of their feet.
Then take your needle and thread and begin to sew!
You'll want to do a few stitches along the strap from one side to the other.
Then take the button and sew it directly on the stitches that you just completed. You only need to stitch if a few times. That's it! So easy and I think they actually look cuter with a little "flair" on it! Happy sewing!
And the finished product worn by the little bug!
...and one more because I think she's so cute!
