This is going to be an honest post. I am not a big fan of working out. It's really hard for me to set aside time to break a sweat. However, it is important and I'm starting to put together a little workout regiment that works for me.
1. Water. I know this goes hand in hand with working out but since I am working on getting healthy I am also working at getting more than the required minimum of oz. to drink. To do that I'm adding cucumbers, strawberries or blackberries to my water. Also carrying around a drink container works a ton.
2. Stretching. My muscles have lost elasticity over time so I am really working on stretching after my workout. My body seriously feels so much better after stretching.
3. Weights. I use 2 and 5 lb. weights and work on repitition. I work my arms and upper back muscles. I use 3 lb. ankle weights for leg lifts and booty lifts. I don't really have a time frame on how long I work out with my weights. Mainly because I have a little one wanting to help me lift my arms "higher Mama"! I'd say I probably spend about 15 -20 minutes on this.
4. Crunches. My mortal enemy. Having had two babies has put a strain on my tummy muscles and this is a real focus for me. I split up my crunches. I do a set of at least 100 (25 times X4) before I start my weights and after I'll do at least 100 sometimes 200 if I'm feeling really motivated.
I know this is isn't really specific, but I do think that each person can find what works best for them.
What is it that gets you motivated? Do you set aside time to workout? How does it work for you if you have kiddos? I love hearing ideas and new things to try so please leave me a comment and let me know what your workout routine is!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
