Keeping this short and sweet because I have a day of snuggles, blog shooting, writing and hopefully a fun picnic (if the weather holds up) ahead of me. Because it's the unofficial start to Summer I rounded up my favorite suits that I've found this weekend. Make sure to check out the sites because most are having Memorial Day sales!
I first want to say thank you for all your sweet comments about my arm insecurities post. You all are very kind and it's nice to know I'm not the only one who has insecurities....sometimes I feel like I keep a lot of insecurities in and find if I just talk about it I realize it's a pretty normal thing I'm feeling.
So here is another top that SheIn sent me and works great for my arm insecurities. It highlights my shoulders and upper arms to a certain extent but it also hides the upper arm bulge too. This is my first off the shoulder top I have gotten and I'm hooked!
Top c/o SheIn
This is an outfit I wore to a park/errand running /shopping day with my little family. This is a normal everyday look for me. If I wanted to dress it up a bit more I'd just add a pair of heels and a great pair of earrings as well. I love embroidery so much and have done quite a few posts on this trend.
This top is light and has movement to it and offers a big statement to any look with the gorgeous roses on the front. The band is tight but doesn't cut into my skin like some OTS tops I've tried on. I will say the one downfall of this top is when I lift my arms up to reach a kiddo I do have to readjust the band so it sits below my shoulders. It doesn't bother me too much, but if you have a little one that you're constantly picking up it might become a hassle.....(or you could just keep it for kid free dates!)
I included a little picture of my family here too. I don't put pictures of all of us up but loved this shot of us and wanted to share it with you all!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
I love a good tank that can be worn multiple ways. This blush one that SheIn sent me is perfect for work, date night, errand running and playground chasing. I actually saw a tank like this in the H&M Summer catalog worn with the bow undone and I totally wanted to try the look myself.
I think this look would be perfect for a dinner out in Summer. I love the bow and the undone more casual look it has when worn this way. Throwing on a blazer, tying a cute little bow with a pencil skirt and heels would make it appropriate for work too! The blush pink is right on trend this year and the top is light and cool for Summer. You don't have to worry about wearing a cami underneath because even though it's a bit sheer wearing a nude bra is all you need. (a total plus when it's really hot and you don't want to layer) Also a seriously amazing price tag makes this a must have!
Do you try to purchase items that can be worn at different times? Since I'm a SAHM I don't purchase a lot of business type outfits, but trying to look for pieces like this top works perfectly for multiple outings.
I am one to go for jeans or plain pants. I don't own a ton of patterned ones actually being honest I don't own any, but when I saw these babies I totally wanted to try them out. I'm always hesitant to buy pants without trying them on, but I decided to just go for it because if they did work they would be epic.
Spoiler alert: they worked.

Anya Storm Photography contacted me about doing a photography shoot a few weeks back. I love meeting new people and getting to know people in my community so I said yes. I take my own photos for the blog, so I wasn't sure how this was going to go. Anya was so sweet and nice and made me feel comfortable right away. She let me know what to do, where to stand but was also laid back and went with the flow. Her sweet mom was there (this girl has some talent and is young...I have a feeling we'll be seeing her do some great things) who owns a gorgeous jewelry shop. You can check out her Six Sister Beadwork Shop here. (they have gorgeous classic pieces) So some of these pictures are from that day and obviously some are from my own photo shoots.
As far as these pants are concerned they are my favorite. The side slits add to the whole unique shape. These pants are true to size. I did order a medium (normally I'm a small) but could have fit into a small without any problems. The pants are roomy in the leg (duh they're wide leg with a high slit) and the waist sits higher which is great for pairing with crop tops in the Summer! Zaful has so many great options and I'm really impressed with the quality of their clothing.
Hope you all have a fabulous week!
If you type in 70s striped dress on Pinterest the most amazing thing happens. Dresses (and jumpsuits) with different shades of orange, blue and yellow pop up. Vertical stripes and long flowy dresses are a trademark of this era. I am definitely in on this 70s trend so when I saw this dress on Zaful I fell in love with it. (the price is seriously amazing too!)
When I was taking the photos it was so windy outside, so I decided to just go with it . I think it totally worked because you can really see the movement in the skirt.

This is one of my favorite dresses because of the striped pattern and the colors. I love stripes but most of my striped options are black and white and are not vertical. I love this because of the multi color stripes. This dress is thick enough so you don't have to worry about wearing a slip underneath it, but flowy and light for warm or hot weather. I will say the v cut on the dress is deep and I sewed a few stitches on it so it wouldn't open up when I bent over or moved my arms. I do think it'd be super cute with a lacey bandeau under it for Summer, which I will definitely be trying once it gets a bit warmer.
What do you think about the 70s trend going on? Is this something you would try? Hope you all are having a fabulous week. I'm looking forward to the weekend because sunshine is in the forecast! Hoping for ice cream cones, walks on the Tacoma waterfront and maybe a Farmers Market for some Spring flowers.
Cold shoulder tops are everywhere. A perfect alternative to the tank top (in my opinion) while still covering the arms....So. We are going there. Insecurities. My arms are my biggest insecurity. I honestly hate showing them off. It's really my upper arms and that part by your armpits. If you have it you know what I'm talking about....if you don't then I consider you lucky.

Call it overly sensitive or self absorbed but it seriously is an insecurity for me. Enter the cold shoulder trend. It covers up where I want it to, but still offers that bare shoulder tank top look for Spring or Summer. This top I love because of the eyelet trim detailing and the color. It's a blue/lavender tone that looks amazing with any skin tone. I think that finding styles that you feel beautiful in that can cover up what you're insecure about is totally okay.
Most people have a body insecurity. Ithink it's okay to show off your favorite parts of your body while learning how to dress to accommodate your own feelings. I do love myself and I think I have a healthy self image, but that still doesn't take away some of those small things that bother me. I'm human! Do you have body insecurities? What do you do to emphasize your favorite assets or l"cover up" ypur least favorite parts?
I have been looking for a light Spring jacket for some time, hence a trench. I was looking for one that had a little twist to it. Hence this wavy lavender jacket was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to show it off with the gorgeous cherry blossom trees because what says Spring more than cherry blossoms right?

Jacket c/o DressLily
This DressLily jacket is the perfect coat for Spring days. It's light yet will keep you warm in the chilly wind, (like what is going on here in the PacNW). I love that you could easily wear it with jeans and tennis shoes for a casual look or easily worn with a dress and heels like I did here. Such a fun little trench on a classic trench! Because this trench was supposed to be posted two weeks ago it's sold out, but DresLily has a ton of cute Spring trenches you can see here!
I want to say a huge thank you to all my readers out there. These last two weeks of not having access to my blog have been very difficult and I'm so glad I didn't loose all my posts (or my blog for that matter) Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and come back next week for all my posts that have been waiting to be published! :)
I will first start off by saying Influenster sent me this free Kat Von D everlasting lip liner in Lolita for review purposes. This review is my own experience using this product.
This is the first time I have worked with Influenster. I have never used Kat Von D before either, but I know people really love her products. However, for whatever reason I just never pictured myself wearing her product, until I was sent this lip liner.
I don't really wear lip liner all that much so I decided to just go for it and wear it as an all over lip color. I wanted to see if it really did last all day (the claim was 24 hours) and what better way then to just wear it all day as one color. Because this is matte I used a sugar scrub on my lips before I put the product on. I make my own scrub and the recipe is at the bottom.
Okay so here's the deal. It works. I put it on and it dried really quickly. Sometimes with matte it tends to either be too dry and is hard to put on evenly. This is creamy and is very easy to apply. All you need is one swipe and done. It's dried within 10 seconds or so and as soon as it's dry doesn't feel like you're wearing anything. I was nervous about it drying my lips out too much, but I didn't have that problem. I did look online and a few people said it dried their lips out and they just put lip balm on before it was applied and it worked.
At the end of the day it was still on. there was a little bit that had come off in the middle of my lip (I have a habit of biting my bottom lip and well saliva when i lick my lip) but everywhere else it stayed. It stayed through coffee cups, water bottles and lunch. Definitely a fabulous long staying product. I loved the color and am completely happy with it. So happy that I'm ordering another color of it and want to try out their liquid lipstick. It's that good.
I also wanted to try it with a lipstick to see if it made a difference in staying power and if it helped the color of my lipstick stay on. I decided to try it with my Clinique lipstick in the color to add some shine and a little lavender color.
I didn't notice that it made my lipstick stay on longer. I will say that the lip liner stayed on over the lipstick. Like after eating I had to only reapply my lipstick. I definitely want to try out the liquid lipstick in the same color and see if the staying power is longer with the brands own lipstick instead of another one. All in all I am super happy with this and would definitely recommend this to anyone. Kat Von D beauty is currently at Sephora so you can stop by and check out her line next time you're in the store.
Have you tried her makeup line before? I haven't been a huge lip liner fan, but this stuff works!
Because this is a matte liner I use a sugar scrub to make sure it goes on smooth. This is so easy to make and can be used with any type of lipstick. The recipe is below!
So now that this is a huge long post, I'll sign off. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
